1. Does Ian really answer all of the Friday Five questions?
Yep! You bet he does. (If you have a question, send it in.) I receive all the questions and then pick five each week to send on to Ian. He answers them and sends them back for me to post. Can I prove that he answers them? Well, I say Ian answers them. Ian says he answers them. Newsweek magazine verified with two other sources close to Ian that he answers them. We've been doing this for a long time now - way too long for it to be a charade. Ian has shared his vacation pictures with us through this site. How would I get Ian's vacation pictures if Ian wasn't involved personally? I really don't know what more I can say beyond that.
2. How do questions get selected?
There really aren't hard and fast rules, but generally I take them in the order I get them. If someone sends in more than one question at a time, I may use some now and save some for later. Or I may use a "new" question right away if it's relevant to something he said the previous week or a current news topic. I take questions from the emails sent in and those posted on the various Ian-related message boards I visit.
3. Do you change/edit the questions or answers?
His answers - never! I may correct spelling and add some punctuation to what Ian sends back, but I never change what he says. As for the questions, I try to leave them as asked but I do correct spelling, grammar, etc. If I get several people all asking the same basic question I will combine those into one "generic" question, as well.
4. How can I email Ian?
You can email Ian at iansome@aol.com. He does check his own email, but please keep in mind that he gets a lot of email and can't possibly answer it all.
5. Does he really answer his own emails?
See above. :)
6. How can I write to Ian the old-fashioned way?
You can send cards or letters to Ian c/o PO Box 501, Canton, ME 04221. All letters will be forwarded to Ian. Please do not send items you wish to have signed and sent back. I'm sorry, but we can't do that at this time.
7. How can I get an autographed picture of Ian? Where can I send a picture to be autographed?
Sorry, but again, we are not set up for this at this time.
8. How do I get my review added to the Fan Reviews section?
Write your review in an email (please don't send it as an attachment) and send it to me.
